                                                     viii.      Plats or diagrams of the lands granted to the early British Settlers indicated by patents (1661 – 1775) - These volumes of plats (1B/11/2) have their own separate indexes. They are indexed by parishes and listed alphabetically by surnames of persons. The size of the plats, the dates when the patents were awarded and the page numbers for the plat books are also included in the index.
                                                         ix.       NB. The records for St. David (1B/11/9) - one of the original parishes of Jamaica - are listed in this collection, but are stored with the Local Govt. Collection.

c.     Records which were transferred from the various Government Ministries, Departments and  Agencies (1B/) are outlined in 3 main volumes labelled Central Government – Departments. These are records which were used by these separate organisations in their daily activities and were considered to be of historical value.

d.    Court Records (1A/) are also part of the Central Government record series and most are listed in an index marked Central Government – Courts. It lists nineteenth century records drawn from the Resident Magistrate Courts for Lucea, Mandeville, Spanish Town, Port Antonio, Montego Bay, and Savanna-La-Mar.
