The earliest existing records for these courts is 1676. There is also an index for the Supreme Court, which lists records from the Chief Justice’s Office in Kingston. It consists of letters mainly from the Governor to the Chief Justice for the period 1890 – 1930. Additionally, some court records are listed in the Central Government – IRO (1B/11) index. These include Court of Error or Court of Appeal (1709 – 1838) , Proceedings of the Court of Ordinary (1795 – 1854), Citations of the Court of Ordinary (1764 – 1862), Order Books for Court of Ordinary (1796 – 1822), Dedimus to Qualify Executors and Administrators (1830 – 1877), Caveats of Administration (1803 – 1842) and Letters of Administration (1710 – 1880), Letters Testamentary (1716 – 1880), Writs of Extents (1755 – 1872) and Drogging Bonds (1827 – 1838). In addition to the general index there are 2 indices for the Letters of Administration and 2 for the Letters Testamentary.
