G-RIM is the Government Records and Information Managers Network, which was established in 1997 to assist in the development of proper records and information management practices throughout the public sector. The Network comprises a group of Records and Information Managers from ministries, departments and other entities in the public sector, who meet regularly on a voluntary basis, to discuss issues relating to records and information management and the preparations required for the implementation of the Access to Information Act (ATI). The network meetings serves as a forum where issues relating to records and information management are discussed, experiences shared and solutions sought with the aim of implementing these measures throughout government entities to ensure standardization of procedures and reduction of costs. The network was an initiative of the Jamaica Archives & Records Department (JARD) which coordinates its activities. The Government Archivist chairs the meetings and the staff of the Government Records Centre provides the support services. Meetings are held on a monthly basis and are hosted by the various members.
